Stanley B. Urban, 87, President and C.E.O. of F.H. Peterson Machine Corporation in Stoughton and longtime West Bridgewater resident, passed away on August 22, 2016. Born and raised in Brockton, he graduated from Brockton High School in 1946 known as "Stish" and from Wentworth Institute, and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. After dedicated employment since 1957, he purchased the company in 1978. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, mushrooming, fishing and quahoging and was proud of his Lithuanian heritage. Stanley was the husband of the late Stefanie (Szupel) Urban; beloved father of Lisa Urban of Norton, Martin Urban and his wife Janice of Stoughton and Andrew Urban and his wife Lauren of Raynham; loving grandfather of Spencer and Genevieve Urban of Raynham; brother of the late Julia Deeley; and a dear uncle of many including John Deeley, Joyce Lewis, Jill Kaminsky, Stefanie Paul and Natalie Kline. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, his funeral Friday at 8:45 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, West Bridgewater and burial at Melrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Diabetes Association.
