Sophie (Makekaite) Stasaitis, 94, of Brockton, passed away peacefully July 10, 2016 after a short illness. Born in Kedainiai, Lithuania, she had worked in the garment industry as a seamstress for many years.  Sophie was the wife of the late Juozas Stasaitis; beloved mother of Grazina Krauss and her husband William of Douglas, and the late Algimantas and Kestutis Stasaitis; loving grandmother of Alison Dulak and Andrea Helie; great-grandmother of Alyssa, Laurel, Emily, Olivia and Parker. Sophie also leaves siblings in Lithuania. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday 4-6 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Friday at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Avon and burial at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, 600 Washington St. Boston MA 02111.
