Robert J. Pereira, 76, of Avon, passed away on May 23, 2016. He worked in the banking industry for many years as a computer system analyst. After his retirement, he worked for Old Colony Elder Services “Meals on Wheels”, first as a driver and then as a Campello site manager. Robert enjoyed making ceramics. He was a devout member of St. Michael Church for 46 years, where he was a Eucharistic minister and also volunteered at the church bazaar. Robert was the beloved husband of Joan M. (Long) Pereira; loving father of Scott Pereira and his wife Barbara of Avon; dear grandfather of Brandon, Jake and Shawn Pereira; brother of William Donovan of Hanson and Philip Donovan of Boston; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday 4-7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Friday at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Avon and burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Avon.
