Leonie Deplat, 80, of Brockton, passed away June 12, 2016. Born in Marmelade, Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Altionis Deplat and Emilie Jean Jacques. Leonie was a primary school teacher in Haiti for over 30 years. A true business woman and gifted seamstress, she would make wedding dresses and other fashions to sell. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir. Leonie was the beloved mother of Ives Rose (Hyppolite) Louis and her husband Gedeon of Haiti, Jean R. Hyppolite and his wife Maggie of Brockton, Ghislaine (Hyppolite) Garcon of Haiti, and Jean Kesly Hyppolite and his wife Marie of Brockton; loving grandmother of Handerson Hyppolite, Mandella Louis, Leonne Louis, Gaelle S. Garcon, Jonathan Garcon, Giovani S. Louis, Gaethan Garcon, Jefferson Hyppolite, Kevin Hyppolite, Niajah Kesly Hyppolite and Tatiana Hyppolite; great-grandmother of many; sister of Louis Deplat, Marie-Anne Deplat, Madame Legrand, Madame Auguste and Madame Mondelues. Leonie also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All are welcome to calling hours Friday, June 24th from 7-9 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral Mass Saturday, June 25th at 9 a.m. in Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton and burial at Melrose Cemetery.
