Karen, Kerri and Kelly you were all very fortunate to have shared your lives with Larry and vice-versa. He was a wonderful husband, father and relative. Val and I were fortunate to spend a bit of time with Larry and family two summers ago. Val and I wish you all the best. Stay strong.

Dear Larry,
I just want to start by saying you were one of the best friends a guy could ask for. The times we spent at Tropicland, Riverside, fishing trips, fishing shows, the Patriots games, sneaking you into the Red Sox game, talking on the phone, fishing at Pond X, or visiting you at Bass Pro...... I could go on and on, but I will cherish these memories forever. You were there for me no matter what. Even just a couple months ago you helped me in a fishing tournament by sharing your favorite fishing spot. Sure enough, I went to that spot and caught some "Larry's". There won't be a day that goes by that I won't think about you. You're the best Larry and I know someday we will fish together again. Until then you will be greatly missed by all.
To Karen, Kerri, and Kelly - Larry couldn't have asked for a better wife and daughters. He knew he was loved and you did an amazing job taking care of him when he needed you. Thank You! I love you girls.
Rest in peace my buddy Larry,
Your friend,
Tab

Joyce, Dana and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Larry's....Played soccer and hockey with Larry at WHS...although he was a great player, he was better teammate...someone for whom I had deep respect....please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will miss you my dear friend! I will always remember the times at Tropicland, our fishing trips & fishing shows! I remember Larry always laughing and eating pepperidge farm goldfish! Larry was always there for me whenever I needed anything and would never say no! He was like that with everyone, he was so kind and thoughtful!! Karen was always by his side, they were great together! Karen could make even me blush! He is selling Nitro Bass Boats in Heaven now and waiting for Karen so they can begin a new journey together!! Miss you forever Larry, no more suffering, no more doctors, no more needles!!! Rest in peace my friend---Tommy

Dear Larry,

Just a little note as you fly away to Heaven. We will miss you down here on earth remembering all the good times we had at the store, the boat shows and on the ocean fishing. We still see you and Karen in the boat on a good fishing day drifting by with Karen hoisting two large keepers
over her head laughing and Larry, you had a grin from ear to ear as if to say Ha Ha Whitey. You taught her good, Larry, she's a great fisherwoman as you are a great fisherman.

May you keep on fishing to your heart's content , catching each and everyone of us that loved you dearly and will miss you until you catch all us keepers, family and friends so we can all fish together again. We'll all be waiting to be hooked.

God bless Karen, Kerri, Kelly and all your grandkid buddies.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

All our Love - Rest in Peace,
Whitey, Carol and Family

It is with profound sadness that I offer my condolences to Karen, her daughters, Joyce and Dana over the passing of Larry. My prayers go out to the entire Mathews family in this most difficult time. I will always remember the good times "hanging out" at his house and just enjoying the moment of the many days I spent in his living room. He had great parents, (in Herb and Jeanne), who put up with some really "nutty" WHS athletes. He was just a good person and a great teammate to be around. He will be missed, but not forgotten, I'm sure.

Larry was the always smiling everytime I saw him!! He was the spark at the wedding's we were lucky enough to attend together and I always had a partner for the "chicken dance!" He was one of a kind!! My deepest condolences go to Karen and their daughters, grandchildren & extended family!! His spirit will always be in them! Although he will be greatly missed, grateful to have known him, glad he won't suffer any longer. He is with angels now dancing that all too familar tune that he loved!! Peace Larry, save a dance for me later! Love Kathy

Larry, you will certainly be missed. We had many a great time together when I worked at Tropicland. It was always great to catch up with you at Bass Pro. My deepest wishes to Karen, Kerri, and Kelly. and also to Joyce and Dana and their families. Unfortunately, i will not be there in person to celebrate your life as I will be on a long planned fishing trip to North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. I will be thinking of you at every cast. Jean and Herb were always great to me and I do wish all well.
