Joseph F. McLaughlin, 91, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 15, 2016. He was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from First National Stores as an assistant store manager and was also a private landscaper. Joe was dedicated to his family first, and enjoyed sports, especially boxing, traveling and working in his yard. He was a member of Third Order of Mary Marists. Joe was the beloved husband of Gloria M. (Perry) McLaughlin since 1950; loving father of Dawn Payne of Quincy, Jody Weiner (and her husband Jeffrey) of Easton and Amy Alfieri of West Bridgewater; dear grandfather of Evan Payne, Jake Weiner, Maria, Julia and Paul Alfieri; great-grandfather of Madison, Caiden and Jackson Payne; brother of Claire Cummings, Theresa Moore and the late Raymond and Leo McLaughlin; and an uncle of many. All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Thursday at 8 a.m., funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Church and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
