Alex Yorgy, 52, of Brockton since 1996, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. Born on July 16, 1963 in Aleppo, Syria, he was educated there and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed as an electronics technician and in recent years drove trucks and delivered for FedEx Home Delivery out of the Brockton branch until 2014. Alex was the loving husband of Daiva (Jaudegyte) Yorgy since 2004; beloved son of Jeanette (Hayek) Jamal and the late Antoine Al-Jamal; dear brother of Mayada Yacoub (and Samer) of Texas and Dina Bahou (and Anthony) of California; uncle of Christina and Christopher Yacoub and Eliana and Elias Bahou. All are welcome to calling hours Sunday, May 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, his funeral Monday, May 16 at 9 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral service at 10 a.m. in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St. Brockton and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
