Williemae (Green) Porter, 89, of Brockton for over 40 years, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2024. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Ida (Bell) Green. Williemae worked for Footjoy in Brockton for 20 years until her retirement.
Williemae was the beloved wife of Eddie Porter for 66 years; loving mother of Bernard Ray Porter (and Patricia), John Leroy Porter (and the late Tara), Cynthia Marie Roper (and the late Charles), Edward Oliver Porter (and Janet), Elizabeth Porter (and Jamal Salack), and Arthur L. Green; grandmother of Kenneth Lawrence Porter (and Wendy), Monique Yvette Porter (and Michael Marejka), Jermaine Porter, Chelsea, Setra, and Nathaniel; great-grandmother of Terrell and Teana; sister of Roosevelt Green (and the late Margaret), Ethel Lee Brown (and the late Benjamin), Ida McLean (and Melvin), and the late John Green, Marion Green (late Mabel), Lucion Green (late Dolores), and Mabel Middleton (late Ernest). Williemae also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to mourn her passing.
All are welcome to her funeral service on Tuesday, January 23rd at 11 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton with visitation in the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m. Private family burial will take place at Melrose Cemetery at a later date. Live streaming of Williemae’s funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
