William A. “Woody” Wilson Jr., 80, of Brockton, passed away Dec. 9, 2021. Native of Boston, he was a retired working supervisor with the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. Woody walked miles a day and was early for everything, especially being there for his grandkids and great-grandkids. Woody was devoted to helping his children care for their little ones, selfless and always thinking of others first. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and flea markets where he could people-watch. Woody was the husband of the late Irene (Carney) Wilson who passed in 2016 after 51 years of marriage; loving father of William F. Wilson and his wife Hermine Inks of Fayetteville, NC, Mark Wilson of Tennessee, Steven Wilson and his wife Mellissa of Brockton, and Darby-Lynne Perkins and her husband Frederick of Taunton; devoted grandfather of Jane-Ann, Steven, Jace, William, Hermine, Abigail and Jacob; great-grandfather of John, Henry and Jameson Wilson; beloved brother AND friend of Eileen Bradshaw and her husband James of Tyngsboro; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday (Dec. 15) 5-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral Thursday (Dec. 16) at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
