William E. Matson Sr.

William E. Matson Sr., 79, of Middleboro, died September 24, 2021. Native of Brockton, William was a son of the late Arthur and Elvira (Makepeace) Matson. A hardworking family man, he worked as a machinist for many years before beginning his career at Matson Glass, where he worked for several years until his retirement. William enjoyed his time spent at the Middleboro Council on Aging. He loved to fish and do puzzles.

William was the husband of the late Carol I. (Castle) Matson; beloved father of Karen Velez and her husband Daniel, and William E. Matson Jr., all of Middleboro; loving grandfather of John Haskell and Michael Ellis; great-grandfather of Faith, Aiden, Savannah, and Hannah; brother of Kristina Lebroquey of Randolph, and the late Carl Matson; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to gather on Tuesday, September 28th from 11 a.m. – 12 noon at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton.
