Virginia R. (Howe) Spakowski, 90, of Brockton, passed away Jan. 7, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton and was retired from work at Mammoth Mart, King’s and Ashmont stores in Brockton. She was a member of the VFW Post 1046 Auxiliary, Polish White Eagles and Conte Memorial Club and enjoyed bingo, cribbage and scratch tickets. Virginia was the wife of the late Alphonse J. Spakowski; beloved mother of Tamara (and Steve) Marathas of Middleboro, Mary (and Peter) Cesario of Palm Bay, Florida and Peter (and Penny) Spakowski of Goose Creek, S.C., and the late Alphonse J. “Skip” Spakowski Jr., loving grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 9; the dear sister of Dorothy O’Shaughnessy of Falmouth and the late George Howe; and an aunt of several nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. and her funeral Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton and burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Seasons Hospice, 1 Edgewater Dr. Ste. 103, Norwood MA 02062.
