Vincent P. Walsh, 66, of Stoughton, passed away suddenly on January 17, 2024. Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Vincent Bishop Walsh and Dorothy Ethel (Oliver) Walsh. Vincent was raised in Avon and attended Avon public schools and was a graduate of Massasoit Community College in Brockton. He later moved to Brockton where he resided for 28 years raising his family, until relocating to Stoughton in 2012. He was employed by the United States Postal Service in Needham for more than 40 years, serving as a dedicated and friendly letter carrier since 1983. His customers looked forward to his daily visits and chats, as well as the many dogs he enjoyed engaging with along the way.
Vincent was very hardworking and loved spending his downtime with his family. He was a loving “Grampa” and his grandchildren looked forward to his visits. As an avid sports fan, he enjoyed coaching youth baseball in Brockton for many years. He was a New England Patriots season ticket holder since 1976. He loved the beach and found peace and happiness during his frequent visits to Cape Cod.
Vincent was the beloved father of Kelly A. Hatchfield and her husband Stephen of Bridgewater and Patrick R. Walsh and his wife Leigh of West Bridgewater; loving grandfather of Logan and Aria Hatchfield and Cameron and Cody Walsh; dear brother of Jean Sobell of Stoughton, Kathleen McIsaac and her husband James of Avon, and David Walsh and his wife Maryann of Stoughton; and also a cherished uncle to several nieces and nephews, and a good friend to many.
