Venita "Man Ta" Jerome

Venita Jerome, also known as, “Man Ta”, passed away on January 8, 2022 in Brockton, MA. Venita was born in Jérémie, Haiti on January 16, 1934 to the late David Cajuste and Justina Jerome. Venita was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed praying the rosary daily and participated in all kinds of church activities. She was a member of many church groups in her hometown. Man Ta, had a down to earth nature, she loved to cook, dance and entertain people; she was also affectionately referred to as “La Reine” of her adult day care. Man Ta was the Matriarch of her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but will remain in their hearts forever.

Man Ta is survived by her loving children: Marlene Jean Charles and her husband Pierre, Hans Jerome and his wife Roselle, Manuella Jerome, Rev. Fr. Marc-Arthur Jerome, Carline Jean Baptiste and her husband Yvon, Betty Jean Michel and her husband Haroll, Blaise Antoine Jerome, and Marie Ackssa Jerome; including four adopted children: Dany Luc, Joseph Lessage Etienne, Marie Claude Dolce, and Louisena Dolce. 

Man Ta is the adored grandmother of Nathalie Roland (and Dominique), Kerby Jean Charles (and Lonetta), Evans Jean Baptiste (and Gabrielle), Peter Hansley Jerome (and Stephanie), Alland Beward Jerome (and Gaelle), Stephking Jerome, Pavlove Jean Charles, Gregory Jean Baptiste, and Kern Yvon Jean Baptiste. Beloved great-grandmother of London, Kaylin, Olivia Grace, Nathaniel, Pierce, Zachary, Damien, and Ma’laïka.  

Man Ta has several brothers whom cherished her dearly: Wencyth Cesar, Antoine Thomassaint Joseph, Ose Joseph, Benitio Joseph, Pierre-Mari Casimir Antoine and the late Ansernio Joseph, and their families. A dear aunt to many nieces and nephews including Justine Thomassaint Joseph, Christopher Joseph, Claudine Gaspard, Ralph Thomassaint Joseph and their families. Man Ta also leaves many additional cousins and friends whom she cherished and will miss her considerably.

All are welcome to calling hours: Saturday, January 15th from 8-10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, MA. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton, MA and the burial is 

at St. Mary Cemetery, 245 North St., Randolph, MA. Face masks are required at the funeral home and church.
