Timothy V. Fernandes

On July 6, 1954, Timothy Vidal Fernandes was the tenth child of twelve born to the late James T. Fernandes and Jeraline B. (Shanks) Fernandes of Brockton, MA. He departed this life on April 23, 2021 unexpectedly.

Tim leaves to cherish his memories of fun and laughter of 33 years his wife Donna L. (Mency) Fernandes. Tim’s brothers that preceded him in death are James T. Fernandes Jr., Wayne H. Fernandes, Michael A. Fernandes, William E. Fernandes, and one sister Flossiemae Fernandes. Surviving siblings are Abdul Fernandes, Carmen (George) Bradshaw, Kathleen Gurley, Randa Fernandes, Regina Fernandes, LisaMaria Fernandes, and two sisters-in-law Dora Fernandes and Janice Fernandes, one uncle Bruce L. Shanks and aunts, and host of nieces, nephews and godchildren, and a host of friends and one special friend whom he loved and considered family Jose Carlos Sanchez.

He graduated Brockton High School, Class of 1972, and he loved to play the drums. Tim also played in a band. He was a loving brother and uncle who was there when anyone in the family needed him and when he would show up, he would always tell something that would make you laugh the family will miss him very much.

Tim said the best thing he ever did was give his life to the Lord in 1998 He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior he walked and talked with him every day. Tim Helped those he could. He was witnesses just by the things he did, feeding people, giving people rides and just making people laugh. But he had a gift for the children all the children loved Tim he was uncle to them all, little ones and old.

All are welcome to his funeral service on Friday, April 30th at 10 a.m. in Church Without Walls, 380 West Chestnut St., Brockton, with visitation in the church beginning at 8:30 a.m. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
