Thomas J. Hanley, 64, of Brockton, died Sept. 9, 2021 from complications after a motorcycle accident. Born in Boston, a son of the late Mary and Edward Hanley, he was raised in Stoughton, where he played youth sports. Tom was a career machinery mechanic, working for many years at Gillette and recently as a maintenance mechanic supervisor for Veolia North American in West Bridgewater. Tom was a member of New England Baptist Church, West Bridgewater and had a passion for ministry and preached at Bridgewater Correctional Facility. He also enjoyed his home and dog Molly. Tom was the beloved husband of Luanne (Tibbetts) Hanley for the past 20 years; dear brother of Mary Anne Casserly of Middleboro (Robert), John P. Hanley of Middleboro (Brenda), James M. Hanley of East Dennis, Clare L. Grenon of Bridgewater (Stephen), Kevin F. Hanley of North Andover (Elizabeth), Kathy E. Kelley of Wrentham (Stephen), Timothy S. Hanley of Bridgewater (Anne Marie), and the late Edward A. Hanley; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, his funeral Wed. Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home and burial at Melrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society.
