Stephen M. Walcott Sr., 70, of East Bridgewater, died Feb. 8, 2021. Born in Brockton, he was a son of the late Willard and Dorothy Walcott, also of Brockton. Steve served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years. Steve loved the simple things in life: his family, animals, his cat, feeding the birds, bicycling, Harley Davidson motorcycles, cars, racing, watching boxing, YouTube and the Weather Channel, music, playing piano, and especially “Magic Days”, doing the routes (paper and mail) with his kids.
Steve was the loving father of Stephen M. Walcott Jr. and Lisa A. Walcott; brother of Mary Conrad, Patricia Bisson, Gary Walcott, Richard Walcott, Christopher Walcott, Cheryl Ouellette and the late Peter Walcott and Willard Walcott; an uncle of many nieces and nephews; and he was also part of his former wife’s family Mary (Jorritsma) Walcott, and leaves his mother-in-law April Amiro.
Walk-through calling hours Tuesday, Feb. 16th from 4 to 8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home and burial at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. COVID-19 protocol of face masks, social distancing and occupancy limits required.
