Sharyn Jerome Obituary

Sharyn (Mansfield) Jerome, a resident of Plymouth, MA and Winter Park in Naples, FL, formerly of North Easton, passed away peacefully April 28, 2025 at the age of 75. Sharyn was born in Boston, a daughter of the late William Mansfield and Julia (Maneikis) Mansfield. She attended Braintree public schools and graduated from Archbishop Williams High School. She also graduated from Westfield State College where she met her husband John “Rem” Jerome, a proud Brocktonian. Sharyn began her career in education as a classroom teacher, but moved to teaching at the Adult Learning Center in Brockton while her children were young. During this time, she earned her master’s degree in library science from Bridgewater State College. She then began her new career as school librarian in Attleboro, and later transferred to Brockton High School where she worked until retirement.

Together, Sharyn and John dedicated their lives to their children and their community. After retirement, they divided their time between their log home at Big Sandy Pond, Plymouth and Naples, Florida. They enjoyed trips to Italy and Ireland, and attended all the grandkids sporting events. Sharyn was married to John for 48 years until his passing in 2020. For the past five years she expanded her travel adventures with friends and family all over the world. This included trips to the Philippines, the Holy Lands, and South Africa!

Sharyn’s enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she brought everyone along for the ride. An avid reader, she spent a lifetime learning new things and encouraging others to do the same. She was the first to buy the newest high-tech gadget, then sign-up for classes to learn how to use them. Her love of shopping was unmatched. She was a devoted sports fan, especially for the Boston Red Sox and Big East Conference college basketball. Even more then her sports teams, she was devoted to her family, close and extended. With her beautiful smile and big heart, she was an incredible source of love and support to everyone in her life.

Sharyn is survived by her daughter Jessica and Terio Sutherland of Kentucky, daughter Sarah and Daryl Tracy of South Easton, grandsons Adam, Owen and William Tracy of South Easton, her sister Clare Mansfield and her husband Brendan Keating of South Easton, several close cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Rebecca Jerome and sister of the late William “Chip” Mansfield III.
