With heavy hearts we announce that Ryan Almeida, Sr., 48, passed away on March 28, 2025. Ryan is survived by a large and loving family including his loving and devoted wife Melissa Almeida (neé Sprague) and his adoring children, Ryan Almeida, Jr., Rachel Andrade and her husband Jordan, Kai Almeida, Jayden Almeida, and his daughter Elizabeth. Ryan's grandchildren brought him immense joy and pride. They are Lennyx Andrade, Lukai Andrade and Lilyanna Noonan-Andrade, along with Elizabeth's children. Ryan was also survived by his mother, Julia Peabody (neé Almeida) along with his mother-in-law, Susan Goche, and was predeceased by his father, John Peabody.
He was a loving Duncle to Brandon Sprague, Taylor Sprague, Susan Sprague, Joshua Sprague-Oliveira, Rebekah Sprague, Anna Sprague, Abigail Sprague and Gabriella Sprague.
He also leaves behind his two sisters-in-law, Jennifer Sprague and Beverly Sprague. He is survived by his Auntie Carl Santos, Jr., Uncle Jan Santos, and his cousins, Richard Pretti with wife Stacy and their sons Ethan and Andrew and Crystal Santos-Steiblin with her husband John and their son Jack. Ryan had five siblings, a niece, Alexandria, and many cousins and friends.
Ryan attended Southeastern Vo-Tech High School (Class of 1995). He was a trained mechanic and owned his own construction company in the past. He learned his construction skills from hands-on training by his father. He had currently been working as a foreman operator at Premier Fence and a heavy equipment operator at DCR.
He had an active online community that went beyond just gaming. He engaged with those struggling with substance use disorder and used his over twenty years of sobriety to support others and model a path to success and recovery. His only remaining "vices" were vaping and pokemon Go.
Ryan talked to everyone who would talk to him, greeting them with kindness that could be hard to find for others but came easily to him. He worked hard to give his wife and kids a wonderful life and succeeded in this effort. His smile lit up the world, his laugh was infectious, and his kindness and generosity made the world a better place. He will continue to be loved and remembered for years to come by everyone who knew and loved him.
All are welcome to calling hours Saturday April 5th from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and his funeral service at 3 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Cremation and private committal. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial gift to their GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/ea94e571
