Rose Michelle Pierre, 56, of Mattapoisett, MA, passed away surrounded by family and friends on May 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Aux Cayes, Haiti, and raised in Turgeau, Port-au-Prince, she was the beloved adopted daughter of her grandparents, the late Benigno Tirado-Monterossa and Ileide Tirado, the birth daughter of Ileide’s son, the late Honorable Lucien St. Louis and Valentine Solidaire, and granddaughter of the late Honorable Mayor Joseph St. Louis and Ileide St. Louis. She attended Bridgewater State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in communication and education and went on to Fitchburg State to earn her Education Training License and Endicott College where she earned her master’s degree in education. Fluent in six languages, she was a foreign language teacher for over 20 years in various states and districts such as Brockton, Providence, Boston, and Franklin Public School systems in addition to The Braintree SDA School.
Rose Michelle Pierre gave her life to Christ at the Oak Street Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1998 and devoted her life to the forward movement of the gospel of Jesus Christ through her ministry of prayer and intercession, preaching, and teaching. She became an active member of the Burrillville SDA Church, although she has always stayed tightly knit with the Brockton SDA community and the Haitian SDA community in Rhode Island and Boston. She was involved in the Seventh Day Adventist Prison Ministry and served as a member of the Women’s Leadership of Burrillville SDA church. A world traveler, actor who performed at the famous Rex Theater, and a fearless social justice advocate, she represented the integrity and tradition of service and advocacy of her family with distinction.
Auntie Michelle enjoyed spending time with her family and the many cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as her close friends.
