Ronella "Nell" McCoy

Ronella “Nell” McCoy was born on August 15, 1952 in Manassas, Georgia. She was the first of six children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Junior and Katherine McCoy.

Nell attended elementary school in Claxton, Georgia and graduated from Claxton High School in 1971. In her formative years she was baptized as a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Manassas, Georgia. She developed a love for singing, dancing, cooking, traveling, and family gatherings.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts and rededicated herself as a member of the Concord Baptist Church there.

Nell spent a long career working in the retail and food industries. She was a reliable and dedicated employee until her retirement in 2020. She was close to God, family, and friends. Nell created a loving home and embodied a spirit of always helping others.

Nell confirmed acceptance of Jesus Christ as her personal savior, solidifying her new residence and eternal life in heaven upon her transfer from earth. On the morning of November 15, 2025, the Lord called Nell home to His loving arms.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted love Wayne Williams; her son Kevin Williams; her daughter Kenyatta Williams; her granddaughters Iyanna Williams, Tahari Moore, and Tasani Williams; her sisters Sandra McCoy, Lisa McCoy, and Emalon Brooks; her brothers Lamar McCoy, and the late Sherman McCoy; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends. And to her special uncle and aunt, John and Pat Mincey. She will be missed.

All are welcome to Ronella’s homegoing service on Monday, November 24th at 10 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 24 Pleasant St., Brockton. Burial to follow at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl St., Brockton.
