Ronald E. Mahan Sr., 81, of Brockton, passed away January 4, 2026. Born in Boston, he was a son of the late John and Emily (Cristadoro) Mahan. Ron was a licensed pilot who owned an advertising banner plane and was a retired supervisor of City of Newton Public Works after 30 years there. He formerly co-owned Critics Choice in Dedham and Walpole when renting VHS movies was popular. In his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a life member and former president of Holbrook Sportsmen's Club. He is survived by his children Ronald E. Mahan Jr. (and Susan Wuschke), Robin Ensko (and the late Thomas Ensko), John Mahan (and his wife Yvonne) and Chris Holmes, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday January 14th from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and his funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Private interment.
