Roger F. Kraus, 78, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on April 15, 2023. He was the son of the late Frank C. and Ruth M. (Weatherbee) Kraus. Roger served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. A graduate of Stonehill College, he worked as a senior planner for Polaroid for 35 years, then for 3M for 5 years until his retirement. He was an avid global stamp collector and enjoyed golf and bowling. Roger was a youth softball, baseball, and basketball coach and helped establish the Brockton West Girls Softball League. He was a proud grandfather and loved spending time with his family.
Roger was the beloved husband of Cherry A. (Crowell) Kraus for 54 years; loving father of Lisa Olivar and her husband Christopher, Derek Kraus, and Jennifer McCormack and her husband Michael, all of Brockton; devoted “Bampi” of Kaleigh McCormack, Meghan Olivar, Matthew Olivar, Quinn McCormack, Mia Olivar, and Morgan McCormack; brother of Virginia Kraus of Brockton; and the brother-in-law of Karl and Sandra Crowell of Plymouth.
Following cremation, all are welcome to calling hours Tuesday, April 25th from 4-7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, his funeral service Wednesday, April 26th at 11 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home and burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
