Robert J. “Rock” Hannon, 72, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at his new home in Tennessee on May 26, 2025. Born in Boston on July 15, 1952, he was a son of the late Barbara A. (Jarvis) Murray and Eugene “Gino” Murray and William J. Hannon. He was raised in Brockton, was a dedicated technician for Bay State Gas until retirement, and lived a full and interesting life. He was an auto enthusiast with his ’55 Ford truck and his ’64 Corvette convertible. Rocky held a Private Pilot License and flew his plane in and out of East Taunton airport for many years, keeping his hangar there to enjoy socializing with his many friends. He will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help others.
Rocky was the beloved father of Robert Kahler and loving grandfather of Cabella and Greyson Kahler, all of Tennessee, brother of Joseph Murray and his wife Elaine, Lynne Dusseault and her husband Robert, William Hannon and his wife Nerella, Susan Hannon, Barbara Hannon, and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday, June 4th from 4 - 6 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton with, funeral prayers at 6 p.m.
Cremation and private committal.
