Robert F. Pozerski, 92, of Brockton, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. Born in South Boston and raised in Roslindale, he graduated from high school there and later graduated from Wentworth Institute in 1958, earning an associate’s degree in drafting. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, including a tour in Berlin as a mess sergeant.
He had worked at the family bakery in Quincy and later operated Linda Jean’s Bakery in Holbrook. He briefly worked at Anderson-Nichols & Company, Inc, an engineering consulting firm, as an estimator. He was a career life-time member and shop-steward of the Boston Carpenters Union Local 33. He worked on many of Boston's landmark projects including the Copley Plaza, Hancock Tower, The Ritz Carlton Penthouse, The Black Rose, MBTA projects, and finally, the Big Dig until his retirement. Bob was passionate about emergency preparedness and spent countless hours listening to his emergency scanner and was a “fire buff”. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and home repair projects.
Bob was married to Dorothy L. (Hannon) Pozerski for 64 years until her passing in 2023 and was the father to seven children including the late Robert "Bob" Pozerski and his wife Nancy and her partner Jim Brown of Taunton, Thomas Pozerski (LTC Retired - Combat Veteran) and his wife Jean of Plymouth, Linda Cahill and her husband Richard of East Bridgewater, James Pozerski and his wife Traci of Abington, John Pozerski and his wife Joanie of Marshfield, Peter Pozerski and his wife Jaye of Sandwich, and Debbie Stallions and her late husband Robert of Carver. Bob is survived by 22 grandchildren including Heather Williams, Christopher Pozerski, Kimberlee Avery, Fern Groves, Caitlyn Pozerski, Kristen Colligan, Shannon Gonzalez, late Collin Cahill, Katie Pozerski, Alex Valentine, Timothy Pozerski, Charles Pozerski, Lauren Pozerski, Andrew Pozerski, Caroline Pozerski, Johnny Pozerski, Julia Pozerski, Kelsey Pozerski, Erin DeGideo, Ava Pozerski, Emily DaPonte, and Abigail Stallions, and their partners. He is survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Jacob, Genevieve, Sophia, Gianna, and Lorelei. He was the son of the late Blanche and Felix Pozerski and brother of the late Edward Pozerski of Brockton.
All are welcome to calling hours on Tuesday, January 20th from 8:30-10 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, followed by his funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 87 North Main St., Avon and burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts, 1300 West Elm St. Ext. Per Bob’s request, he would be honored if those who have served in the military or as first responders chose to wear their uniforms with pride.
