Robert A. Zamagni, 81, of Brockton, passed away July 7, 2024. Born in Boston, a son of the late Albert and Rosalie Zamagni, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a letter carrier for U.S.P.S. for 40 years, first in Hyde Park then later in Boston’s Financial District. Robert loved all Boston sports and was a Boston Red Sox season ticket holder for over 30 years. He enjoyed going to Prince Edward Island on vacation and watching his grandsons play baseball.
Robert was the beloved husband of Mary C. (Gill) Zamagni for almost 56 years (she was a native of P.E.I. her true home and they met at a dance at Moseley’s on the Charles in Dedham); loving father of Amy Zamagni (and Keith Matta) of Brockton; dear grandfather of Cayden & Logan; brother of Janet Kennedy (and Jack) of Pepperell and Thomas Zamagni (and Karen) of Hanson; son-in-law of the late William and Helen Gill; brother-in-law of Margaret, Leona, Billy, Sheila, Therese, Geri, Freda, Leo, Bernadette and Helen, all of Prince Edward Island; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours Sunday July 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, his funeral Monday July 15 at 9:30 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St. Brockton and committal at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Christ the King Parish c/o 439 West St. Brockton MA 02301 or your favorite charity.
