Robert “Bob” Peter Santos, of North Windham, CT, passed away on Monday, October 13, at his residence surrounded by family, at the age of 66. A longtime resident of Stoughton, he was born and raised in Massachusetts.
Bob was a manager of McDonald's and Wendy's in Stoughton for nearly 50 years. He loved scuba diving, bowling, rock music, and spending time with his family. In his lifetime he saved the lives of others. On one occasion Bob jumped in front of a moving car to move a child out of harm’s way and injured his hip when he took the hit himself. He later saved fellow divers when an underwater cave collapsed on them. Additionally, he spotted a car fire on the side of the highway and was able to pull a mother and child from the burning vehicle. His heroism will never be forgotten.
Bob was the beloved husband of the late Judith Santos, and the son of Peter and Marilyn (Child) Santos. He is survived by his children Robert (and his wife Kimberly Young), Amanda, Ashley (and her husband Chris Simons), and Danielle. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Tristan and Violet Welch. He was the brother of Rick Santos, Kim McMahon, David Santos, and the late Kathy Ciulla, and had many treasured nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.
Following cremation, friends and family are welcome to memorial calling hours on Wednesday, October 22nd from 3-6 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help his children https://gofund.me/97593bf26.
