Robert E. Richards, of Norton, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2021 at Life Care of Attleboro. Native of Brockton, Robert graduated from Brockton High School in 1948, then attended Bridgewater State College, where he graduated with a B. Ed., and attended Boston College, where he graduated with a M.A. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was assigned to the Tropic Lightning division stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Upon his discharge, Robert returned to education and spent many years teaching in Brockton. After retirement, Robert became a snowbird, spending his winters in Palm Beach Gardens and Lake Worth, Florida. He was also involved in the business of antiquing and participated in antique shows across New England and Florida and had a booth at Acushnet River Antiques in New Bedford. Robert is survived by his sister Carol F. Richards of Norton and his close friend Paul Sacoccia. Per Robert’s wishes, his burial is private.
