Richard M. Melchionno, 67, of Brockton, died November 9, 2019. Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late Robert N. and Shirley (Hansen) Melchionno. Dedicated to helping others, he worked as a drug counselor at High Point for many years. Richard had a great sense of humor, having the ability to make anyone laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Richard was the beloved father of Richard M. Melchionno Jr. and his companion Mary of Brockton and the late Brian T. Melchionno; loving grandfather of Richard M. Melchionno III and Lily Melchionno; great-grandfather of Emalia and Richard; former husband and dear friend of Catherine “Susie” Joyce of Brockton; brother of Robert G. Melchionno and his wife Linda of Plymouth, Jody M. Melchionno and his wife Tina of Avon, Donald G. Melchionno and his companion Regina of Brockton, and the late Thomas M. Melchionno; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Thursday, Nov. 14th from 5-7 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. memorial service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Private burial.
