Richard F. Holden Jr., 72, of Brockton, died May 11, 2022. Born in Quincy and raised in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Richard F. Holden Sr. and Mabel E. “Betty” (Walsh) Holden. Richard was a graduate of Perry Academy and later earned a certificate in computer sciences from Clark University. He worked in management for Sears, Mid-Cape Home Centers, and Somerville Lumber, before starting Holden Enterprises.
He had a great love for music and enjoyed live concerts. Richard previously played baseball and golf and loved attending family sports games. He was an avid bowler and liked cooking, baking, and gardening.
Richard was the beloved husband of Donna M. (Doucette) Holden for 27 years; loving father of Stacey Carter (and Brian) of Raynham, Richard F. “Skip” Holden III (and Melissa) of Plainville, and Edward Holden (and Ashleigh) of Spring Hill, TN; dear “Gumpa” of Nicholas and Emily Carter, Ainsley and Porter Holden, and Andersyn and Sullivan Holden; cherished brother of Donna Fultz (and Stuart) of Plymouth; and a dear uncle of several nieces and nephews. Richard also leaves his dog Chloe, who was his faithful companion.
All are welcome to memorial calling hours Tuesday, May 17 from 4-6 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Private committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Midnight Run Rescue or your favorite animal shelter.
