Richard F. DeBest Jr.

Richard F. DeBest Jr., 86, of Brockton since 1972, died June 5, 2020. Native of Roxbury, he was the son of the late Richard F. and Catherine (Barry) DeBest. He graduated from high school and then served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He was retired after many years as a forklift operator and warehouse worker for several companies including Pappas, Diamond and Reebok. Richard was the beloved father of Denise and her husband Finlay “Scott” Walsh of Whitman, David DeBest and his wife Michelle of Lakeville and Edward Dyke (and his wife Stephanie) of Warwick RI; loving grandfather of Matthew Hurley (and Kristen DiCicco), Abby Walsh, Grace Walsh and Sarah Dyke; great-grandfather of Luna Hurley; and brother of the late Evelyn Haese. His funeral services are private. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
