Rev. Dr. D.B. Waya

Rev. Dr. D.B. Waya, 98, of Nigeria, (father of Rev. Dr. Abraham Waya, Brockton, MA), reposed in the Lord on July 27, 2021.

With gratitude to God for a life lived to full purpose in proclaiming the gospel, it is our privilege to announce that on July 27, The Rev. Dr. D. B. Waya, age 98, (father of Rev. Dr. Abraham Waya, serving Brockton and East Bridgewater United Methodist Churches) crossed into glory, leaving an indelible legacy of service to God and humanity in lives saved and transformed. Rev. Waya was an exemplary husband, father, evangelist, pastor, theologian, spiritual leader, educationist and much more. He was recipient of honorary doctorates, and Nigeria's National Honor award of "Officer of the Order of The Niger", OON. We are most grateful that God graciously blessed us, and thousands of others, with such a saint. He will not come back to us, but we look forward to reunion together with the Lord. 

Baba (as he is fondly called) was buried in Nigeria on August 10, 2021 with over 8,000 people in attendance and thousands more on ECWAtv.

Pray for our mother as she grieves the passing of her husband of 65 years. Pray that in the mystery of death we may display the faith that is the bedrock of our family as we grieve as those who do have hope. We thank you as you pray for comfort and consolation and for us, and as you join us to rejoice in the goodness of the Lord. He is home now. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Memorial Service will be held at Central United Methodist Church, Brockton, MA, USA, on Saturday August 28th at 11:00 AM. Live streaming will be available. Observing all COVID-19 health precautions, you are invited to join us in person or by the link on this page.
