Reathann (Washington) Nance

Reathann (Washington) Nance, 83, of Brockton, passed away on November 4, 2025. Born in Barnwell, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Zelma (Brown) Ferguson. She was raised in a home full of love and nurture by her late aunt and uncle Letha and Moes Washington. Reathann worked for Boston Financial Data Services for many years until her retirement. A woman of deep faith, she was an active congregant of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church since the late 90s, where she was on the Board of Ushers as a doorkeeper, servant in the soup kitchen and member of the Women’s Ministry.

Most important to Reathann was her family. She looked forward to yearly family trips to her favorite place Aruba, making memories that will last for generations. Reathann took pleasure in the simple things as well. Road trips to Maine taking in the scenery and sharing stories brought her great joy. Additionally, Reathann enjoyed crossword puzzles, coloring, watching court and justice programs, game shows, and her favorite, The Andy Griffith Show. What a blessing to have had her for eighty-three years.

Reathann was the cherished mother of Christine Washington of Boston, Lindsey Nance of Ayer, Alan Nance of Brockton, Mark Nance of Bath, Maine, Leo Nance of Brockton, Olivia “Libby” Nance of Brockton, and the late Michael Earl Nance and Theresa Ann Nance; devoted grandmother of ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; dear sister of Ann Evelyn Washington of Boston, Willie Anthony Ferguson of North Carolina, and the late Delonda Ferguson and Demetrius Ferguson; and an host of aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews. Reathann also leaves her beloved fur babies Shelby and Scar.

All are welcome to her homegoing service on Saturday, November 15th with a 10 a.m. viewing and 11 a.m. celebration at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 24 Pleasant St., Brockton. Committal service is private.
