Racheal A. (Martelli) DeLea, 101, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025 at Height Crossing in Brockton where she resided since 2021. Born in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Emily (Dwyer)(Martelli) Machado and graduated from Brockton High School in 1942. Racheal was retired from employment by Brockton Public Schools as a teacher aide.
Racheal was blessed with many lifelong friendships and she enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod and Florida. She loved to dance and was a wonderful cook.
Racheal was the wife of the late William D. DeLea whom she met dancing at The Franklin Club, beloved mother of Richard Urenas of South Easton, David Urenas of Brockton, and the late Robert Urenas and his widow Colette of Mashpee, grandmother of Paul Urenas, sister of the late Martin Martelli, Joseph Martelli, Florence Khoury, Gloria Martin, James Martelli, Robert Martelli and Mary Towne, and an aunt of several generations of nieces and nephews; she also leaves Bill’s son Dan DeLea and his wife Priscilla and their family.
All are welcome to calling hours Monday August 4th from 4 to 7 p.m. and her funeral service Tuesday August 5th at 10 a.m. all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, and burial at Melrose Cemetery.
