Pierre Montas Norgaisse

Pierre Montas Norgaisse, 100, of Rockland, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024. Born in Gonaïves, Haiti, he was the son of the late Perreus and Anicia (Lebrun) Norgaisse. Pierre was a successful entrepreneur in Haiti for many years. He was a fierce leader in his community and helped many people. Pierre was a shrewd businessman who loved to travel and when he eventually made his home in the U.S., Pierre worked in banking until his retirement.

Pierre enjoyed family gatherings, sharing good food and stories with everyone. In his later years, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially watching Haitian television shows. Pierre’s legacy will continue throughout generations to come, he will be lovingly missed.

Pierre was the husband of Mercidieu (Gabriel) Norgaisse; father of Pierre Hector Norgaisse of Haiti, Micheline Milord of New York, Marie Lourde Norgaisse of Brockton, Montes Norgaisse of Brockton, Gladys Philogene of Rockland, Michael Norgaisse of Boston, Keith Ralph Norgaisse of Boston, Montas “Billy” Norgaisse of Boston, Lesimond Norgaisse of Haiti, Mardalourdise Norgaisse of Boston, Jean-Louis Montas Norgaisse of Haiti, and the late Madana Norgaisse; grandfather of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brother of the late Polixin Norgaisse, Albert Norgaisse, Leclerc Norgaisse, Pertilus “Coq” Norgaisse, Dieudonne Decius, Vanie Phanord, and Amicia Calixte; and an uncle of several nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to his viewing on Saturday, May 11th from 8-9:30 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, his funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 87 N. Main St., Avon.
