Phyllis Ann (Corkum) Wood

Phyllis Ann (Corkum) Wood, 90, of Brockton, passed away at home on Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was the wife of Robert A. Wood. Phyllis was born on February 5, 1934, to Wilson and Anne Corkum. She was raised in Easton, MA and graduated from Oliver Ames High School.

Phyllis was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to bowl in the Brockton City League and was on the Don Gillis Candlepin Bowling Show three times. At one time, she was the President of the Brockton Band Boosters. She loved family functions and pool parties and traveling the country with her husband in their RV.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bob, her two children, Don Wood and Cindy Maloof and her husband, Ken. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Ortiz and her husband, Chris, Lauren Salvador and her partner, Michael Powell, Denise Walsh and her husband, John, Jeff Wood and his wife, Brandi, Steven Maloof. She also leaves her great-grandchildren and her sister, Carolyn Corkum. Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Debby Wood, and her sister, Millie Kish.

All are welcome to visitation on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, 483 N. Main St., West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Brockton Historical Society, 216 North Pearl St., Brockton, MA 02301.
