Paul J. Ahern Jr., 81, of Stoughton, passed away on August 12, 2024 after his last trip to Burton Island State Park in Vermont, where he enjoyed camping over the last 50 years. Born in Boston to the late Paul J. and Louise M. (Carey) Ahern, he was a 1961 graduate of Dorchester High School.
Paul was an oil burner technician for many years, working for White Fuel and Glenmore Fuel. Paul loved frequent trips to Newport, R.I., boating on the sea and visits to New York City attending the theater.
Paul was the beloved father of Dawn M. Ahern-Hodgson and her husband Ralph of Brockton, Paul R. Ahern and his wife Tracy of Rindge, NH, and Daniel M. Maupin-Ahern and his wife Gwendolyn of Hidden Valley Lake, CA; loving grandfather of Scott L. Abrams, Ethan M. Ahern, Orianna Maupin-Ahern, Connor G. Ahern, Delaney Maupin-Ahern, and Clio Maupin-Ahern; dear brother of Richard C. Ahern and his wife Carol A. of Stoughton, and the late Elaine Ford and Sharon Ellis; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to memorial calling hours on Saturday, August 17th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Diabetes Association.
