Patricia Mathieson Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Patricia (Pat) L. Mathieson of North Easton, MA, passed away peacefully at her home on August 26, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. In her final days, Pat was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and friends.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Charles Mathieson, and her two sons: Eric Mathieson and Kyle Mathieson, Eric’s wife Rachael, and their two beautiful children, Jack Charles and Emmy Kathleen. She is also survived by her sisters Kathy Fox, Dianne Hartnett and Kathy’s daughters Kerri Fennessy, Kristen Fox, the late Katelynn Fox Lonergan and their spouses, the loving Mathieson family, including her sister-in-law Barbara Mathieson, her daughters Renee Sang-Augustin and Elise Bowes, along with their spouses, her brother-in-law Paul Mathieson, and Paul’s daughters Vanessa Mathieson and Coryn Mathieson, niece Kerry Johnson, nephew Christopher Mathieson, and many great-nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close. She was predeceased by her two brothers-in-law, Peter Mathieson and George Mathieson, as well as her beloved sisters-in-law, Karen Mathieson and Debbie Mathieson.

Born on February 13, 1957, Pat was the daughter of the late John (Jack) J. Hartnett and Elizabeth Hartnett. She graduated from Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School in Dorchester, MA, and soon after embarked on a successful 30-plus year career. Pat was highly regarded for her expertise in the group insurance industry.

Pat lived life to the fullest! Her loyalty, love, and laughter knew no bounds. Generosity should have been her middle name. She set a high bar as the glue that held her entire circle of family and friends together. Whether in her roles as wife, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, sister-in-law, surrogate mother, mother-in-law, loyal friend, or mentor, Pat balanced it all with impeccable style and grace. Her greatest joy, however, was being "Gigi" to Jack and Emmy. She always made time for her family and her expansive group of treasured friends. She had the unique gift of developing business relationships into lifelong friends. Pat found happiness in travel, the ocean, music, dining, and fashion. She left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her charismatic smile, humor, zest for life, compassion, wit, and ability to uplift those around her will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Pat will be held at the Knights of Columbus at 375 Foundry Street, North Easton, MA, on Sunday, September 8, 2024 between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
