Nathaniel A. Bell, 71, of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully March 13, 2024 after a lengthy illness with kidney failure. Born in Boston, he was the youngest child of the late Bertha Lee (Tomlin) Bell and Bobby Wayne Bell. He was raised in Brockton and resided in Taunton for many years until moving to Warwick 21 years ago. Nat played softball in his younger years in Taunton and coached youth baseball for Taunton Little League. Right out of high school he began a 35-year career with Verizon until his illness. Nat was a true family man, and loved everyone dearly. He will be remembered fondly for his easygoing and kind nature.
Nathaniel was the beloved husband of Beatrice Y. Metts-Bell for 17 years, the loving father of Nathaniel Bell USAF and his wife Frieda of Georgia, grandfather of Josiah, Olyvia, Saniyah, and Rafael, dear brother of Ella De Grace and her husband Joseph of Brockton, Rosetta “Rosa” Glass of Las Vegas, and the late Ernest Bell, Ervin Bell, Otis Bell, and Mose Bell; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation all are welcome to Nat’s memorial calling hours Saturday, March 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and his memorial service at 11:30 a.m. all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital in appreciation for their wonderful care of Nathaniel.
