Nancy A. (Coppi) Olivolo, 76, of Brockton since 1972, passed away March 21, 2023 due to heart disease. Nancy was born in Boston, one of nine children of the late Andrew and Mary (Egan) Coppi and she was raised in Cambridge.
In her younger years, Nancy worked for the Boston Herald where she could express her love for reading and demonstrate her talented writing skills. During that time, she met her husband, John, and they were blessed with two daughters. When their daughters were younger, Nancy decided to be a paraprofessional at Franklin School in Brockton to ensure she was home when they returned from school. Later in life, she started as an administrative assistant advancing to Office Supervisor at Whitman Medical Center then at Compass Medical Center in East Bridgewater, a career that lasted over 30 years until her retirement.
Beyond her career and family, she also helped the community as a former Brockton Public Library trustee and member of the Brockton Public Library foundation. She worked countless book fairs, pancake breakfasts and other activities to raise funds for the library. She was also a former CCD teacher at St. Nicolas Church.
Nancy will always be remembered for her independent spirit, strength, kindness and loyalty. Family was everything to her, as was her love for reading and always putting others first.
She was the beloved wife of John A. Olivolo for 52 years, loving mother of Deanna Deschamp and her husband Keith of Framingham and Jaclyn Begley and her husband Sean of Cumberland, R.I. She especially loved her role as Nana to Camryn Deschamp, Faith Begley and Sean “Jr.” Begley. She was also the dear sister of Andrew Coppi, Paul Coppi, Thomas Coppi, William Coppi, James Coppi, Susan Fitzgerald and the late Mary Gualtieri and Linda Dieguez, as well as her lifelong best friend Joanne Riley. Nancy was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.
