She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin J. Hons; her uncles, Robert Metcalf and Robert Koch; her aunt Mary Teresa Koch; and her cousin Michael Koch.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Carol Hons Wood (Koch); her daughter, Mysti (Doverspike) Adams and son-in-law, Robert Adams; her granddaughter, Juliette Adams; her sister, Debra (Hons) Walsh and brother-in-law, John Walsh; her nephews, Christopher Wilbanks and Jacob Walsh.

Hons and wife, Margaret, and their daughters, Margaret (Hons) Dryer and Pamela (Hons) King; Cathy (Hons) Metcalf, and her sons, Travis Metcalf and Kevin Metcalf; William Koch, and his wife Marylyn, their sons, Timothy Koch, and Patrick (Amanda) Koch.

Nancy was diagnosed when she was nine years old with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes on May 14, 1975; she overcame those challenges for almost 50 years, remaining actively engaged in fundraising efforts with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (now Breakthrough T1D) throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s honor to Breakthrough T1D (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) at: Breakthrough T1D (Formerly JDRF), PO Box 5042, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5042 or online at  www.breakthroughT1D.org.

Nancy’s sense-of-humor, strong faith, and kind-heartedness touched many lives, and her memory will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  Amen.
