Milien Bernadeau Obituary

Our beloved Milien Bernadeau was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and pillar of his community. Milien peacefully passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 101, surrounded by the warmth of his home and the love of his family. Born on January 12, 1924, in Thomonde, Haiti, Milien lived a life marked by unwavering love, strength, and service. At the age of 26, he married his soulmate, Irena Bernadeau, in 1950, and together they built a remarkable life filled with love and joy. Their extraordinary union spanned 75 beautiful years, a testament to their deep devotion and enduring commitment.

Milien’s greatest joy was his family. Sadly, Milien leaves behind his beloved wife, Irena Bernadeau. Known affectionately as “Papason”, Milien was more than a father to his own children, he was a father figure to many. His community recognized his wisdom, kindness, and ability to bring people together, honoring him with the title of “President of the Community Council” for his dedication to resolving conflicts and fostering peace. Everyone was sad when he left the community. They remembered how he used to help them and even hired many people to work on his farm. They were all hoping he would come back.

He was a guiding light, always extending a helping hand and leading with love. His contagious smile touched many hearts and lifted many spirits. He was the epitome of a hardworking man; he took great pleasure in caring for every single one of his horses from sunrise to sunset. In his spare time, Milien enjoyed reading his Bible and sharing all the treasures he found with others.

While we mourn his passing, we take comfort in the promise found in John 5:28,29, which assures us that “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” Milien’s unwavering faith in Jehovah’s promises to mankind gives us the hope of seeing him again in the paradise to come. Milien Bernadeau’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, resilience, and service. His impact will continue to be felt through the generations he has guided and
the countless lives he has touched. His legacy lives on through his 10 children: Matheus, Milia, Molière, Denis, Roselene,  Andrée,  Jocelene, Anaud, Jacqueline, and Gisele together with his 46 grandchildren, 110 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and several dozen nieces and nephews. His love was boundless, his kindness unmatched, and his wisdom was an invaluable gift to all who knew him.

Milien will be dearly missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten. His life was one of service, love, and unwavering faith, and though he may rest now, he continues to inspire. His legacy is not just in the generations he leaves behind but in the countless hearts, he touched with his generosity, wisdom, and love which makes him unforgettable.

Milien's funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 638 Pearl St., Stoughton at 10:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Private family burial on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
