Michael F. Stripinis, 81, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care with family nearby on January 10, 2025. Born in Brockton, he was the only son of the late Alphonse and Amelia (Mikalauskas) Stripinis, graduated from Brockton High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He became a plumber by trade and worked as a union plumber for Boston University for 25 years prior to retirement. Michael was dedicated to providing for his family, enjoyed fishing in his younger years, and had an interest in part-time business ideas. He was a great storyteller, had a friendly welcoming way of meeting people, and had once enjoyed owning a Corvette. In recent times he enjoyed watching football games at home on TV. Michael was the beloved husband of Sandra L. (Niles) Stripinis for 56 years; loving father of Chris Stripinis (and Beth Andrews) of Seattle, Washington, David Stripinis (and Lisa Goldstein) of Chicago, Illinois, Jaime Stripinis of West Newton, Michael P. Stripinis of Brockton and Christine Stripinis of Brooklyn, New York; and a dear grandfather of Jacob Stripinis and Daniel Moriarity. All are welcome to memorial calling hours Thursday, January 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 4 p.m. all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts, 1300 West Elm St. Ext. Brockton MA 02301.
