Michael Wayne Reed, 65, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024. He was the son of the late John L. and Norma Jean (Morris) Reed and a U.S. Army veteran. Michael was proud to have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a jack of all trades and an expert NRA instructor. For many years he worked as a skilled diesel mechanic. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and taking long road trips with no destination in mind. He will be remembered for his silly sense of humor and love of puns and bad dad jokes.
Michael was the beloved husband of Margaret L. (Pastena) Reed for 45 years; proud father of Nicole Causey of Stoughton and the late Andrew, LeighAnn Reed of Brockton, and Sandra L. Reed of Attleboro; cherished Papa of Alexis Marie Reed and Andrew Michael Causey, as well as his favorite fur babies Chewbacca and Bear; brother of Maureen Reed, Mary Pastena and her husband Michael, James Reed, Joseph Reed, Kevin Reed, and William Reed; and a much-loved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours Fri., Feb. 16th from 3-5 p.m. with a 5 p.m. funeral service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton. Private committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Diabetes Association.
