MaryAnn (Cappiello) Leary, 59, of Brockton, passed away at home on September 3, 2021, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was a daughter of the late Theresa (Beauregard) and Louis Cappiello. A 1980 graduate of BHS, she resided in Brockton for most of her life, living in Taunton for several years in between. MaryAnn had worked at Cape Cod-Cricket Lane Casuals from 1981-1998, then at W.B. Mason, and was a waitress at Pub 76 in Taunton. She enjoyed many summers at Nantasket Beach. An avid sports fan, she loved people and dogs, most recently Kimba, and liked cooking chili and sauces. MaryAnn was the beloved wife of Brian R. Leary for 20 years; loving sister of Diane Wilbur and her husband Arthur of Taunton, Louis “Sonny” and his wife Janis of Brockton, James of FL, Donald and his wife Alexandra of Taunton, Robert of Brockton, and the late Dennis Cappiello; sister-in-law of Mary Cappiello; and a devoted aunt of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Thurs., Sept. 9th from 3-7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, her funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Fri., Sept. 10th at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 87 North Main St. Avon and burial at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Brockton VNA Hospice or American Cancer Society.
