Mary E. (Cody) Farrar

Mary E. (Cody) Farrar, 81, of Taunton since 1990, passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2025. A native of Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Bridget (Dermody) Cody. A 1962 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, Mary later earned a degree from Laboure School of Nursing. A dedicated nurse anesthetist, she worked for South Shore Hospital for many years until her retirement. After retiring, Mary worked per diem at the Eye Center in Raynham. A member of the Holy Union Sisters, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Jude Parish in Taunton. She enjoyed sewing and loved being a dance mom and grandma.

Mary was the beloved wife of Edward F. Farrar for 58 years; loving mother of Katie Farrar of Brockton, Bridget Farrar (and John Scopelites) of Brockton, and the late Nancy A. Farrar-Hood; cherished grandmother of Terrance and Edward Hood, both of Brockton, Neena Farrar, Grace Scopelites, and Genna Scopelites, all of Taunton, and the late Nicholas M. Pezzano; and a great-grandmother of Haleigh Richman and Jaiden Hood.

All are welcome to calling hours on Wed., November 12th from 4-7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., BROCKTON. Funeral Mass on Thurs., November 13th at 10 a.m. at Saint Jude Parish, 249 Whittenton St., TAUNTON. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Brockton.
