Mary T. “Lovey” (Lopes) Coleman, 87, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on October 11, 2023. She was the daughter of the late John Lopes and Helen (Chor) Anesti. Mary worked as a paraprofessional in the Brockton Public Schools for many years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church in West Bridgewater. Mary enjoyed bowling and crocheting and was a member of VFW Post 1046 Ladies Auxiliary, D.A.V. Chapter 32, and D.A.R.E. Brockton. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Mary was the wife of the late James D. Coleman and longtime companion of the late James I. Malone; beloved mother of James D. Coleman of West Bridgewater, Joni Voelker of Texas, and the late Jan Darrah and Mark Coleman; loving grandmother and great-grandmother of many; sister of Elaine Vasconcelos of Florida and the late Paul S. Anesti Sr.; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to visitation on Monday, October 16th from 10-11 a.m. with an 11 a.m. funeral service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, and burial at Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl St., Brockton.
