Mark R. Cassidy, 64, of Weymouth, passed away March 10, 2025 after a lengthy illness with pulmonary fibrosis at Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham. Born in Brockton to the late Mary (Martelli)(Cassidy) Towne and Richard Cassidy, he graduated from Brockton High School in 1978. Mark was a floral designer for many years at Winston in Boston. In recent years he worked as a substance abuse counselor for Miller House in Falmouth and was proud of this vocation as he loved to help others. Mark and his husband Peter M. Keenan, together for 34 years and married the for last 14 years, resided in Weymouth and had also lived in Quincy. They loved caring for their pet dogs, 9 in all, currently Rocky and Riley.
Mark was the beloved husband of Peter; loving brother of Steve Williams of Maine, Dana Underberg of Florida, Robert Cassidy of Bourne and Gloria Jean Daskalakis of California; and an uncle and cousin of many; a nephew of Rachel Delea of Brockton; and he joins in eternity many beloved relatives and friends.
Mark is sadly missed and lovingly remembered.
A Celebration of Life for Mark will be held this summer. Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, may donate in Mark’s memory to Pat Roche Hospice Home, 86 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham MA 02043.
