Marjorie Ann (Dugan) Doane, 92, lifelong of Brockton, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 14, 2021. Born January 29, 1928 in Brockton, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Leo J. Dugan and Madeleine (Hendrick) Dugan. She was retired from Tetley Foods. Until her illness in October of 2020 she resided at Battles Farm and was blessed with the health and independence to have enjoyed living in her home. Marjorie loved her family dearly, trips to the Casinos, her Yahtzee games with friends and family, and her weekly lunches and shopping sprees. She was truly loved by all who were graced with her presence and spirit.
She was the wife of the late Howard R. Doane and former wife of the late Lawrence Churchill. Marjorie leaves her daughters, Laura (Churchill) Frye and husband Lee of Lakewood, New York. Jean (Churchill) Williams and husband Gilbert of Brockton, Barbara (Doane) Lanoue and husband Paul of Brockton, Charlotte (Doane) O’Hara of Barre VT. Geraldine (Doane) O’Hara of Barre VT. Irene (Easton) Shearer of Dover NH. Anita L. Doane of New Bedford, MA., sons Howard R. Doane of Barre, VT., Russell G. Silver of Middleboro; Marjorie was the dear sister to her late brothers, George W. Dugan, Leo J Dugan, John (Jack) Dugan of Brockton, and Douglas A. Dugan of NH. Her late granddaughter Marjorie A Gillis and grandson Carlyle (Carl) Lewis were always in her heart. Marjorie was also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews as well as close friends.
Calling hours in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton beginning Friday 4 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. (Jan. 22) Cremation and private burial in the spring. COVID protocol of face masks, social distancing and occupancy limits respectfully required.
