Marion J. Ritz, 85, of Brockton, passed away November 4, 2024 at Good Samaritan Medical Center under the care of Beacon Hospice. Born in South Boston, one of ten children of the late Joseph and Blanche Mankewich, she graduated from Gate of Heaven High School there. She wed Patrick Ritz, the love of her life, and had 50 years of marriage to him until he passed away in 2009. Marion was devoted to her family and home, loved all of them immensely, and welcomed the new generations with her tender loving care. She was an avid Boston sports fan, enjoyed trips to Nantasket Beach, knitting, going to casinos, and the family dogs.
She was the beloved mother of Patrick J. Ritz and Deb of Marshfield, Marion M. Ritz of Raynham, Thomas J. Ritz and Mollie of South Weymouth, Joanne V. Ritz of Brockton, and James M. Ritz of Taunton; loving grandmother of Patrick, Jeslin, Ben, Sam, Jayden, T.J., Kat, Tina, Michael, Kayla, Kasey, Katie and Tim; great-grandmother of Kais, Kaleo, P.J., Hunter, Wesley and Maverick; sister of Jeanette Alessi, Helen Celeta, Carol Hayes, Joseph Mankewich, Ginny Dobens, and the late Irene O’Brien and Richard, Edward and Edmund Mankewich; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to her calling hours Sunday November 10th from 1 to 4:30 p.m. with a closing prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Her funeral procession will be on Monday, November 11th gathering at 8:15 a.m. to leave at 8:30 a.m. for her committal at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Wreaths Across America.
