Marilyn M. (Leck) McDonald, 81, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on January 20, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Emilia (Gruntmeyer) Leck. Marilyn was a 1960 graduate of Brockton High School and was one of the first women in the Brockton area to have her own radio show, which aired in the 60s on WOKW.
Marilyn was a well-known bartender, working for Lynwood Café in Randolph for 13 years. She was a talented self-taught florist, dreaming up beautiful floral arrangements for others to enjoy and loved traveling, and spending time at the beach.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of Daniel P. McDonald for 33 years; loving mother of Deanna J. Tavares and her husband Joseph of North Attleboro and Michael W. Dixon of Brockton. Marilyn also leaves many dear extended family, friends, and loved ones.
All are welcome to calling hours Mon., January 29th from 4-7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, her funeral service Tues., January 30th at 10 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home and burial at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
